Clean Water Fund: Clean Water Projects in Dakota County
In 2010 and 2011, $235,508 received from the Clean Water Land & Legacy Amendment was matched with
$133,240 of local funds and distributed through the Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District's cost share programs to install
Best Management Practices at nine sites in Dakota County. The District assisted the participating landowners with the technical know-how
to help them select, design and install innovative conservation practices having the most benefit, for the least cost, in high priority locations.
Combined, the practices capture approximately 33.5 tons of sediment and 41.6 pounds of phosphorous annually to help protect our surface
water resources.
