The data set identifies and ranks potential greenway corridors in Dakota County, MN by ranking and prioritizing MLCCS polygons using ecological and rare species criteria developed cooperatively by the Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District, Friends of the Mississippi River, and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
Purpose The data set was created as a natural resource planning tool to identify and rank potential greenways within the County. The data set allows greenway conservation efforts to be applied more efficiently and effectively.

Attribute Accuracy Database Entry: Queried in Arcview to insure all classification codes were valid, manually entered associated attribute fields were populated and valid, and all automatically entered associated attribute fields (via Query Builder) were populated and valid. Plotted polygon boundaries and ecological rankings and spot-checked for completeness and/or discrepencies.
Logical Consistency Data set has been established and topologically verified.
Completeness Completed cities: Burnsville, Apple Valley, Eagan, Mendota, Mendota Heights, Lilydale, West St. Paul, South St. Paul, Sunfish Lake, Inver Grove Heights, Rosemount, Hastings, Lakeville, Coates, Hampton, Vermillion, and Farmington.

The cities of New Trier, Randolph, and Miesville are not complete.

Completed Townships: Eureka, Empire, Nininger, Marshan, Vermillion, Castle Rock, Greenvale, and Ravenna.

The townships of Douglas, Sciota, Waterford, Hampton and Randolph are not complete.
Horizontal Positional Accuracy The horizontal accuracy is +/- 30 feet.
